Grind for Life Series

Mighty Mama Skate-O-Rama

The inaugural MMSOR took place on Mother's Day 2004. Nineteen women rolled with us that day, including 80-year-old Liz Bevington. Since then, the skateboard moms and "aunties" have gathered in New York, Washington D.C., Newburyport, MA, Portland, OR, Chicago, Long Beach, CA, Annandale, VA, Washington, D.C, and our home base of Laguna Niguel, CA.
The events are for fun--and for fundraising. We raise money for children's literacy via our Rolling 4 Reading™ program, where we deliver, via skateboard, new and gently-used children's books to kids in need.

Mancora Peru Classic

While the rest of the circus circumnavigates the globe we also have the ASP Women's World Tour taking a similar approach to the guys. In recent years there has been an influx of talent and in 2008 we can expect the new guard to stand up and be counted. Watch the girls as they perform in Australia, Brazil, France, Peru and Hawaii.
There is an air of maturity about ASP these days. Having been around for 31 years the sport is developing a deep and enriched heritage not unlike that of more mainstream sports. With a truly professional outlook, incredibly efficient business processes and practices plus healthy relationships with some outstanding business partners and events, we are sure that in 2008, ASP's success will be immeasurable.

100 Years of Motorcycles Rally and Concert Series

Wyatt Wilson Memorial Ride

Wyatt Wilson was born on April 6th, 1989. Just short of his 16th birthday, he lost the fight in his battle against cancer. While receiving treatment at Children’s Hospital in Seattle, he spent two years of his short life at the Ronald McDonald House. Wyatt’s father, Dan, has organized an annual motorcycle ride in memory of Wyatt and to give a little back to the people and organization that gave so much to both he and his son.
Many riders have asked for a longer route. Although nothing has been finalized yet, a longer route is planned from Eastside Harley Davidson in Bellevue to Flaming Geyser State Park in Black Diamond. Details will be posted on this site as soon as they become available. The start time may be moved ahead to allow for more ride time. The barbeque will still be held afterwards. Come for the ride – stay for the food!
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska supports families with seriously ill children by providing a caring home-away-from-home at the Seattle Ronald McDonald House and by operating a grants program benefiting children’s health related non-profits in Western Washington and Alaska.
Washington State HOG Rally

Included in the fun this year will be a 350 mile Poker Run with a payout of $2500.00, as well as field events, guided rides and an evening parade of Harley's in both the cities of Wenatchee & Silverdale.
It all culminates at the Clearwater Casino of Suquamish with an awesome closing ceremony featuring live music provided by THE FABULOUS JOHNSONS ("Bad Company"). For those who want to try your luck, the casino offers a first-rate gaming experience, in addition to gourmet dining and top-rated accommodations.
So, mark your calendars now, you won't want to miss your H.O.G. family reunion & party.

Texas Challenge Adventure Race

This year's race has been moved to Camp Longhorn, home of Tex Robertson, Scott's uncle, who passed away this past August. Tex Robertson (1909 - 2007) was not only the founder, but also a friend and Inspiration for all. Although he has left this earth, his spirit and presence will always be among the hills and dales and the many lives he has touched throughout his magnificent 98 years. This year's race will be a memorial to Tex, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to one of Tex's designated charities.
The race will start at Camp Longhorn's original camp (see directions link). The camp has grown to encompass not only the Inks Lake Camp, but also Indian Springs Camp. The race will utilize both camps, and allow the racers to race on an extraordianary and unique race course. The race will be organized as a true challenge, in the spirit of Tex. And as Tex would say, "Sure you can!" and "Attawaytogo!"

Mbabane - Swazi Xtreme

It helps that the Kingdom of Swaziland is an ideal venue for adventure racing. Mountains, valleys, rivers, waterfalls, caves, cliffs, forests, plains and hundreds of kilometres of meandering foot and cattle paths are squeezed into a compact area of 17,363 sq km.
The event has also been consistently innovative in its mission to keep the ADVENTURE in adventure racing and to avoid this becoming an elitist ultradistance athletic sport. Every year the event attracts seemingly ordinary people, who step up to the line to experience the thrill of doing what is undeniably EXTRAORDINARY.
This year is no exception. The major new focus for this year's event will be shift from the shortest route, fastest time approach, to one which will have teams competing to do the maximum distance and clip the most control points within the allocated time.
The general race route will be defined by a sequence of Compulsory Control Points (CP's), which all teams will need to visit. Teams in the hunt for a win will be keen to find a scattering of Optional CP's. These optional points will be tucked away in the most exciting and adventurous corners of the race footprint, demanding both skill and speed to reach. What this means is that top teams will have more time out in the field to push themselves to the limit, testing their navigational and strategic team strengths, whilst the slower teams who merely wish to complete the event have the liberty of moving just between the compulsory control points.
Strategy and teamwork will become paramount, with decision on when to go straight and rest and when to zig-zag to collect points being the likely difference between winning and losing teams. Not only will navigational ability be essential, but the ability to estimate speed and distance will keep heads buzzing well after bodies get tired.
This new race format increases the likelihood of a higher finishing rate for the event and will increase the tempo up front as leading teams will constantly concertina back into contact with each other throughout the race.
