About 40,000 visitors are expected for Vinatge Motorcycle Days! There's the gigantic swap meet, the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum Auction, bike shows, the VMX Champions Race, a Tony DiStefano MX school, new-bike demo rides, stunt shows, seminars and much, much more. If you've been before, you know what to expect, a weekend of vintage biking nirvana. First-timers will be greatly rewarded for making the trip.
This year the AMA VMD featured marque is the Triumph. There will be special displays of the British bikes and other activities. Also new this year will be a special display of pre-1980 cafe racers of any marque. And, in honor of Triumph, the Featured Marque for 2008 VMD, modern Bonnevilles and Thruxtons that have been customized in the cafe racer style are also welcome.
The Classic Club for 2008 is the North American Laverda Owners Club, which will have a special display and activities.
With so much to do and see, and so many people attending the event, it is important to keep everything running smoothly and for everyone to follow some basic guidelines. A few details have changed for this year, so please take a moment to read the following:
All competitors need to enter through the appropriate gates. Signage will be posted directing you to the gate where you should enter and register.
> AHRMA roadrace competitors must enter through Gate 3 to pick up their credentials. If you enter by any other gate, you will pay the applicable gate fee, and there is no way to have that fee refunded.
> AHRMA off-road competitors must enter through the Ross Rd. to pick up their credentials. If you enter by any other gate, you will pay the applicable gate fee, and there is no way to have that fee refunded.
> AHRMA racers are allowed one pass per racer and one for a crewmember, with one additional available at the gate for a cost of $10. A maximum of three passes per racer is allowed.
> Both entrances will be open throughout the event, with Mid-Ohio Guest Services personnel staffing them.
> There will be no vehicle traffic through the campground between the MX paddock and the rest of the Mid-Ohio facility at any time during the event. Foot traffic is permitted. Anyone who needs to drive a vehicle to the other part of the facility can do so by exiting the facility and driving to the other gate after registering at their respective entry gate.
> Keep in mind that all motorcycles must have a license plate and all motorcycle (and golf cart) operators must have a valid drivers license.
> Parking space will be at a premium in all paddock and pit areas and it is suggested that everyone bring only the equipment and vehicles needed at the event. Mid-Ohio personnel will be on hand and able to direct you around the facility.
> Portable shower trailers will be accessible from all areas.
