All participants must be 16 years of age or younger as of January 1, 2009 to be eligible to compete in the Rip Curl GromSearch. Entrants are limited to a maximum of 2 divisions ($35 per division), and they can only enter up their gender’s age division, not down. This will be a one-day event, with a 2-day waiting period. On Saturday June 6th the Brooklyn Banks in New York City will once again be shredded to pieces at the annual Bank to the Banks event.The fifth annual Back to the Banks contest, featuring veteran pros and an army of hungry amateurs amassing from all over, for one of the most legit street contests in the US. This year there is more prize money and a bigger family of sponsors supporting the event. But behind it all, the real purpose of Back to the Banks is to promote and preserve skateboarding at the Brooklyn Banks. ASA ACTION SPORTS WORLD TOUR KINGS ISLAND - MAY 23 & 24

The Liquid Force Relentless Weekend

The Liquid Force Relentless Weekend is an annual event held at the KC Watersports Wakeboard Park. The event started 5 years ago with one simple goal, to bring professional wakeboarders and local wakeboarders together in a friendly, social riding environment. Regardless if you are a beginner or a mega baller, everyone will have a blast participating. This years event features Wakeskater James Balzer, World Champion Cable Rider Tom Fooshee, and wakeboarding legend Shawn Watson. The Weekend starts on Friday May 15th with open riding on the cable from 2 PM - 8 PM. Everyone is invited to Hooters in Olathe to hang out with the riders and other special guests. Things really heat up on Saturday with open Riding beginning at 10 AM. At noon, all of the participants will get together and teams will be drawn. Each rider is to select a trick that he or she would like to learn that day. From noon to 4 riders will practice their trick, and the Liquid Force Pros will be on hand to offer tips on how to land the trick. At 4 the competition begins. Each rider gets one try to make his or her trick. The judges rate the trick on a scale from 1 - 5 and the points go toward the team total. The team with the most points will win great prizes from our sponsors. Following the competition, everyone will head to the Scion Lab at Grinders in the Crossroads district of KC for the Midwest Premier of the Billabong Team Video "Out of the Pond". AST DEW TOUR CHINA INVITATIONAL 2009

Alli's premiere international event, the China Invitational, has been officially slotted to go down in Beijing, May 8-10. Featuring skateboard Park and Vert and BMX Vert, the second-annual China Invitational will host top athletes such as Greg Lutzka and Austen Seaholm in the Skate Park competition; Pierre Luc Gagnon and Andy MacDonald in Skate Vert; and Jamie Bestwick and Chad Kagy in BMX Vert. Hey-yo! These dominant riders were invited based on their 2008 Dew Tour season rankings. But we're not the only ones ready to go. Skateboard phenom and Southern-California resident Greg Lutzka said he's stoked to compete in front of Beijing fans. "I think this will be a great warm-up for the upcoming Dew Tour season," he said. The China Invitational will be held in the Beijing University of Technology's indoor Gymnasium, a 2008 Summer Olympic venue which then accommodated badminton and rhythmic gymnastics (don't act like you didn't watch the rhythmic gymnastics). Stadium seating accommodates 6,900 spectators. "We couldn't be more excited to bring the China Invitational,"said Zhou Qiang, President of Xingyi New Media Investment Company. He added that with strong media partners such as BTV 6 and CSPN in China and NBC stateside, "we believe the China Invitational will continue to generate unprecedented Chinese interest in action sports." Alli Vice President Chris Prybylo said he and his company are thrilled to return to China, adding that last year's inaugural event received a tremendous fan turn-out. With the addition of BMX Vert as a judged competition this year, "The China Invitational will once again bring the best skateboard and BMX athletes in the world to the fans in China."

Hold onto your hats, Red Bull X Fighters is coming to town! After staying true to the motto "Everything's Bigger in Texas" in 2008 with a brilliant aerial rodeo show set on a massive course, the world's best FMX riders are set to return to the Wild West with guns blazing for a high-octane showdown after the scorching sun sets on Saturday, June 27. PRO WAKEBOARD TOUR STOP 2 PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI

The second stop of the season will take place at Prairie Springs Park in Pleasant Prairie on June 19-21. Prairie Springs Park has played home to the WWA Wakeboard National Championships for the past several years, but never has served as a Pro Tour stop. This three-day event will feature the second and final round of Tour qualifiers for all three divisions. Final placement in Pleasant Prairie will determine which riders qualify to finish out the rest of the '09 Tour and continue earning points in the Indmar Performance Standings. The King of Wake is an eight-event series points race. The top athletes who qualify into each contest will compete to earn points towards the series standings. Athletes are ranked according to total points earned throughout the eight-event season. Following the final contest of the season, the highest total points-earner in the series will be crowned the King of Wake. To keep the points race tight, the King of Wake series features the Chase for the Crown format. The Chase limits the eligibility for crown to the top-ten highest points-earners, midway through the season. Following the fifth stop of the series, only the current top-ten ranked athletes in the standings will receive a point bonus, adjusting their totals to keep the points race tight, and making only the top-ten eligible for the King of Wake crown. All athletes will still compete at each of the remaining contests in the series, but only the ten athletes involved in the Chase will have the remaining three stops to top each other in the standings for the King of Wake crown. The tour will continue on to the 3rd stop in Knoxville, TN June 27th-28th.
